Honeysuckle bokeh

Two kinds of honeysucke bokeh from our garden, using Tokina 90mm f 2.5 macro, the "Bokina."

Sporangia? They look like the pods of an alien life form that is invading. Nice shot though! Just strange looking flowers. Are they aquatic?
Nope, just the sporangia of common moss, some of the vegetative greenery ("leaves") may be visible at the very bottom of the image. I may have a different image that shows the relationship of vegetative to reproductive parts more clearly.

The trick is to figure out which sporangia are within focus rather than bokehed - hint: there's a bug on one that's pretty sharp, and a sporangium just above it that is probably as sharp as any.

In case anyone who did not find the bug wants to know where it is, here's an excessively deep crop, IQ falling apart, but you can see the bug on the sporangium. This crop is from slightly to the right and above dead center.

I like the "painting" effect of the heavy crop/IQ loss

Good to be back after some all too brief vacation time!

.
Just posted a few of my favorite Pentax K-1 Zeiss/Leica bokeh photos to my new flickr group.

We're a new group that features the best bokeh photos on flickr. Some of the images were taken with Pentax gear.

Below was taken with K1 and adapted Zeiss 100mm f/2 lens.

On such a rainy day almost everything looks soft and dull colored, but some objects are more bokehed than others.
