I lucked out on this one. I happen to swap out lenses from the 30 to the 135, and was clicking away some test shots out the front room window. The butterfly bush is just outside the window, and makes a nice subject when the sun is out. Then, out of nowhere, this little guy flew up, and let me take his picture.

I've only known these as hummingbird moths. There's a Hawk moth that is similar, but has stripes along the wings and body ( according to Google)

I went to see a friend to pick up some Lexan scraps he had snagged for me out of the scrap bin at his plant, and to drink a beer. He needed a few minutes to finish tilling up his yard so while I waited I took some pictures of his wife's flower beds. This one was taken with an SMC Takumar 55mm f/2 at f/5.6 on a 12mm extension tube.
