The winters in North Carolina are mild enough that, even if it's too cold to sail, it's not too cold to do boat work. And all boats need work. So I have been on my boat for the last week, rebedding fittings, painting and rigging. Now and then we get a nice warm sunny day, and when work is done it is time for a strong, hoppy IPA. This is a Hi-Pitch from Hi-Wire Brewing in Asheville, NC. SMC Takumar 105 f/2.8 at f/4 in the late afternoon sun.

Thanks! It tool a number of tries to get the balance of focus/defocus right, without any lateral or vertical movement showing. They were all handheld, so that was a factor, but a tripod would have got in the way too much. Fun experiment.

I was under the impression that zooms had to have ugly bokeh but I have been very pleased with the results from the DA55-300 ED WR. Took these this morning in mid morning sunshine at minimum focal distance with the K3:
