I expected that would be the response

Nah - his chickens look like Buffs, while mine are obviously Red Stars.
As to LBA...the first step is to admit I have a problem. If/once I get there, I’ll figure out who to blame

can't turn my back on you blokes for a second, can I?

(:

my LBA is dormant at the moment - I make no promises about this afternoon, however.....

as far as chickens, however, five different breeds here: buff orpingtons, silver-laced wyandottes, barred rocks, black australorps, and rhode island reds...

thankfully, the chickens are hers and she does not suffer from PBA (poultry-buying addiction) at all.....

There is another thing I recall from my youth.

Brown eggs.

The citiots wouldn't eat them. Said if they weren't white there must be something wrong with them.

Then mom got some Araucana chickens, the ones that give colored eggs. When she told me about them I was expecting Easter egg colors, but they were more of a pastel shade.

Blue, green, yellow, pink.

Really had the citiots wound up then.

My wife started selling our excess eggs at a nearby produce co-op. She immediately sells out at $6.50 a dozen, and people pre-order for the next week.

Being a frugal sort she mentioned buying store eggs for me, since they were so much cheaper. I told her if she did that I wanted my lumber back from the hen house
