Originally posted by grey goat Ed, that bokeh with that Soligor 28/2.8 is about as wild as the bokeh on the Porst 55/1.2 I recently sold. What's it like when you stop down? I'm guessing the lens sharpens up pretty nice, but I wonder when the bokeh starts to quiet down.
Now, off to the third-party lens reviews to read more about that Soligor / Tokina. . . .

Hey Nath - the bokeh I found it to be unique (from lenses in my collection), really surprised me... I've never seen shots by the Porst you refer so I can't compare... the Soligor's bokeh reminded me of the bokeh of a lens which names escapes me right now, one that I was always after... Cannot remember for dear life what lens it is though. It could've been a german 50/2, but I might be wrong and confused.
Now - the examples were taken wide open... looking at the blades, f4 and f5.6 will form a "ninja star" bokeh... f8 if anything will give either a hexagon or octagon (did not count)
Stopped down is very sharp, but kinda flat (see image below) [sorry for no bokeh on that one!!]
