Congrats on the new lens. I like the horses shot. Very sharp to gradual fading focus. Great shot.
Thanks, Take! Yes, those horses caught my eye after I'd photographed the cobalt on the shelf over the sink. Glad you like it!

That's hawkweed in the last image in your post, isn't it? You sure isolated that one flower in all that bokeh!

I've shot primes my whole life--though I did have a 35-105 Nikkor zoom that I sold to a friend. But some of the images I see posted here made with primes make me think that I should consider a nice zoom at some point. . . .

I was surprised, when purchasing an SMC A 35-70 f4 for the convenience, that I could get bokeh out of what would seem an unlikely zoom for it;

1) chipping sparrow in front of totally bokehed greenery; 2) turkey strutting it's stuff in front of partially bokehed woods; 3) Tralee swallowed up by bokeh while I was photographing an oddly-shaped fungus.

I haven't delved into all the images from my shooting tonight at the infamously-named Barn in Spring Green, but here's one I got with the "new" Pentax M 100mm f/2.8 of the keyboard player in Elle Winston's band (out of NYC). Exposure info: ISO I600, f/2.8 @ 1/80 sec.

Thank you and yes I think it is a hawkweed. I have two zooms, Sigma 18-35 and DA 50-135 and I like them both. Too bad they are both weaker on the long end where I like to use them the most.
Few more with DA50-135

Blooms and bokeh. As Ive wondered before, what % of images on this thread have flower(s) as the in-focus subject.

I really like that inbound bee image. Gives a great sense of motion.
