Originally posted by WPRESTO OK. I really like the first image, and although the background has been blurred nicely, the background itself is a bit chaotic. What I would try: the flower has a fairly smooth outer edge. I would put it in PS, select the flower than invert to select the background, then lower contrast on the background and apply Gaussian blur a litle at a time to get a nice effect, then experiment with darkening the background to make the flower pop out a little more. Hope that's a kind comment (I like the image) and constructive suggestions (not criticisms).
Thank you W
I see your point and I agree. The back ground has too much contrast shot at f5.6. I try to shoot wider but feel some of my shots has too narrow DOF and not enough in focus ( still learning my way around this whole picture taking thing
) I use DXO photolab2 for PP. Its simple enough for me because I tried Darktable with so many modules and I end up ruining my shots
I can select the flower but I don't know if I can invert the selection in photolab. Does anyone know? Anyway, I'll try to re-edit and post here (I hope its ok with everyone
) I do appreciate your suggestions. And criticisms are ok too as long as if they aren't too harsh
