Here's some late October frost from a few years back--when I did have the gumption to walk around early in the morning. Both made with my K-7 and Kiron 105/2.8 macro . . . the frosted silver maple leaf @ f/5.6 and 1/60 s., iso 200; the freezing fog on the frond @ f/8 and 1/400 s., iso 400. Both were slightly cropped with various adjustments in LR.

SMC-A 50mm f/2.8 Macro. SWMBO's camera case, given some 'teal and orange' effect in post.

Now I'm curious, Benz3ne . . . what model Olympus is in the case?

Way back when--1972, I think--before I got my Fujica ST801, I considered getting an Olympus FTL. I think it was the last screw-mount body Olympus made, with full-aperture metering. Not many people I mention it to remember it; I think most people's memory of Olympus SLRs starts with the OM-1. But when I see a fitted leather Olympus case, I wonder if it might be sheltering an FTL. . . .

It's in fact an OM-10! She bought it in her first year of uni to take up film photography as a hobby and never got around to it... come 9 years later, we've dug it out, put new batteries and film in it and it's away to go! Coupled to it she has a slightly fungal Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 and Tokina (or Tamron, I forget which) zoom which isn't in great condition. Recently, I purchased her a Sigma 75-210 zoom to fit it which she took out for it's maiden voyage yesterday...

...back to the camera, it came with the above lenses, a Cobra flash, remote shutter release, manual adapter, case and neck strap and she reckons she wouldn't have paid as much as £40 for it back then... a bargain in my opinion! Looking forward to seeing what her pics come out like! There she is with it, manual adapter not pictured.

Thanks, Ed! DW58's frost photos made me think of the frosted frond, and when I tracked it down, I found the frosted leaf, an image I hadn't edited at all back when I made it. So that gave me an opportunity this morning.

I have an OM-1 and a nice collection of OM-Mount glass (Old Zuikos) - Unfortunately they do not mix well with K-mount; so I acquired an old EOS for purposes of using my Zuiko glass in digital for cheap. Works beautifully (check out the Zuiko Lens thread - Zuiko lens Club - Page 4 - PentaxForums.com)

I've always heard great things about Zuiko lenses, but have never thought about buying any. Until today, that is, when I remembered the m42 glass they made pre-OM. But very few of them showed up in my online search. Maybe I'll check out that Zuiko thread to see if anyone mentions the m42 lenses. (But it's good to know that the OM mount doesn't play well with the K or m42 mounts!)

Flowers and bokeh, they seem to be a natural combination

Nah, that is on the fireplace mantle, the liquor cabinet is in the dining room, far away from the fireplace.

Wouldn't want to create a fire hazard, eh?

Funny - I revisite the Zuiko thread to add a few shots that I did not share there previously... I see some old posts about modding the OM mount to anM42 mount (basically replacing the original mount with a flanged adapter).

For me, my solution was much easier. my EOS was about $50 and it does photos well with the OM adapter (without added glass).
