Great portrait, but cannot you say a word or two about your beautiful model?
Thank you on your comment. Sure I can. She's my friend, Maria. She's student of final year at the faculty of philology, Hungarian and Turkish language. She's avid book reader. This photo was taken in November 2019. Helios did good job with leaves in autumn colours in the background. This is taken at f2.

Isn't this lens essentially the same as the Voigtländer 58 f/1.4?

Pentaxians are free to disagree, but I found the mildly bokehed background behind this busker akin to a painted stage backdrop. As you might guess from the blur and weak shadows, this was late on an overcast day.

Yes, great background. Lots of folks seem to believe that bokeh is a failure unless it is creamy with an unrecognizable background. I like this style where it is obvious what the focus of attention is intended to be, but where larger environment is also apparent. Great photo.

That Topcor 58/1.4 produces wonderful images, so lush in color and texture.

Beautiful, Pepperberry. . . .

When I was first delving into 35mm with my dad's Retina Reflex S, my sister's fiancé was shooting with a Spotmatic and a friend of his with a Beseler Topcon Super D. I never used the Topcon, but since then I've read what great cameras they are, and also how superb the 58/1.4 is. Your post confirms what I read about the lens, for sure! And, of course, the bokeh is nice, too!
thank you - this lens is the 'tribute' lens that Cosina made about 17 years ago; carries the name and styling, but the optics are completely different than the original Topcon's....

it is - coatings were probably updated for the Voigtlander, but the optical package is identical...

and,

Meyer-Optik Görlitz Trioplan 100mm f/2.8. Wide-open, as to be expected for some of the first shots taken with it.
