Noticed the leavings on the counter after my wife finished preparing a wonderful meal, and I had to make a quick photo (quick, because the meal was almost ready). Onion peel on walnut; K-3ii with A 50/2.8 macro, iso 1600, f/2.8 at 1/50. Not the sharpest image--not enough time for a tripod, and my back wasn't happy with my stance when I made the image. . . .

Bokeh with the Bokina

Some flowers with the K-10 and the Tokina 90mm f 2.5 macro 1:2, nicknamed "The Bokina" because of soft buttery OOF.

So, maybe I'm fixated on this onion peel. But here are a couple late-morning, day-after photos. This time I used my EBC Fujinon 55/3.5 macro, wide open at 1/80 sec. I don't know why it should be, but I find it easier to focus with the slightly slower EBC Fujinon than I do with the A 50/2.8 macro--easier to see things in the viewfinder. Or maybe it's that my back is hurting less today than it did yesterday. . . .

Those are very 'apeeling' .

Playing with the 35mm f2 today in various lighting situations. Most have hit the trash can on the camera, but thought I should at least post one.

Purple Hollyhocks with a brick corner of the house behind for some MineCraft style bokeh.

Little sparrow

I love long lenses!
This one is taken with the DFA150-450mm lens - while the background is a few meters behind the bird and the bird also only 5 meters in front of the lens, the bokeh is really soft!

Went out yesterday to photograph our tiger lilies. I'm not sure about other locations , but locally these flowers are everywhere, in every other garden, along roadsides, out along trails.Hardy and vigorously self propagating (dug out all of this patch two years back because it had become too dense with the plants). I was also experimenting with a 50~200mm Pana/Leica lens to see how it performed at close distances. Some images were taken with a Canon 500D close-up filter attached. IQ was very good.
