5d for my old takumars?

I got alot of old pentax FF lenses. A bunch of Takumars and other m42's.

Would it be a good idea to get an eos 5d mk1 for the takumars? I don't think my K-7 is doing my old lenses justice, it's not the best camera for manual focusing, and add the crop factor it gives...

I lost faith in ever getting a Pentax FF camera.

Opinions? Is this a good way to go? Anyone with experience please share!

Anything that might go wrong with a 5d, like mirror slap and such?

I would mainly use it with

takumar 50 1,4 (first version with protruding rear element)
takumar 35 3,5
takumar 105 2,8
takumar 55 2

I use old M42 lenses (Takumars and others) on my Canon 1D MkII and Canon 5D MkI bodies. They work like a charm. All you need is a cheap M42 to EOS adapter. I've got mine from Ebay for 10 bucks including shipping. I use these lenses in "A" mode with stop down metering.

I have to warn you that for K mount lenses this isnt true - apperture lever and apperture lever guard are interfering with 5d's mirror and other details inside the mounts.

I keep modifying my lenses for them to work on my 5d.

OK. I read alot on goole and now I'm really worried. This list M42 lenses on Canon EOS 5D is a big concern as well

The list says the takumar 35 3,5 and the 50 1,4 will hit the mirror. This makes me worry. And I don't know if I want to shave the mirror if I get a 5d.

Are the lenses hitting the mirror because of wrong adapters that puts the lenses too close? I read someone put paper between adapter and camera and he still could focus on infinity without mirror slap.
