Yashica AF 50mm f/1.8 on Pentax K-r

Hi all,

I've just run across the title lens at a really good price and wondering if it will actually be usable on a Pentax K-r.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Please do not take this as definitive but from what I can tell Yashica made lenses in M42 mount and in C/Y mount.

If the lens you are looking at is M42 it might work on the k-r with an M42 - K mount adapter. I do not believe the C/Y (Contax/Yashica) mount will work on any Pentax which is K mount.

I use a Yashica 50mm f2 ML on my kx. I replaced the Yashica/Contax mount with a Pentax one from an old broken lens, since the Yashica mount will not fit on Pentax. The lens focuses to infinity perfectly. The lens is very sharp, even wide open. I only converted the lens to Pentax since i had a spare Pentax mount and was able to get the Yashica lens for $2. It was an interesting experiment, but I never use this lens since I have other 50mm lenses that are made for Pentax mount and are easier to use, even though they may not be as good optically.

The Yashica AF 50mm lens is for the autofocus Yashica cameras, so it won't work on a pentax, sorry. It is not m42 mount.
