200mm 2.8L II from Canon - what a steal. That thing is right in my wheelhouse. The search continues for an equivalent....

Also, as a former owner of the Canon 70-200mm f4L, I have to agree with the esteemed earlier poster - great price/IQ/AF.

Also, can a brutha' get a cheap AF 50mm up in here??
The DA* 200mm f2.8 is not too shabby though.

What I'd like to see:

1. An updated version of the FA 31 Limited. With a removable hood, and maybe at least 20% smaller.

2. Something like the Canon 15-85 IS. I'm sure Pentax can make it smaller since we don't need in-lens stabilization. Great if it were WR as well, but then we've already got the 18-135 WR.. just not wide enough sometimes.

3. 135 f/2, 2.8 Prime, maybe screw-driven if necessary to make it as compact as possible

4. a DA* or WR version of the 12-24 f/4

5. Something like the Sigma 8-16mm UWA

+1 on 8-16mm. But f4 DA* please.

+1 on 60mm f2 macro. Again DA*.

+1 on any TS.

500mm f6.3 *autofocus* mirror lens with actual adjustable aperture. There is no reason that can't be done.

Charles.

These would all be non-pancake (we have enough ultra-slow primes)

55mm DA LTD. 1.8 (a smaller brother to the DA*). --> (85mm equiv)

24mm DA LTD. 2.4 --> (35mm equiv)

These two ltds could be paired with the DAL 35mm for the classic 35mm - 50mm - 85mm setup of the yesteryear...

So you would be able to go the "classic" route:

24-35-55 (could be the macro or the DA L)

You could go the "pancake" route:

21-40-70.

Or, of course, you would be able to mix and match.

I would ideally do:

15 - 24 - 35 - 55 - 70

Five primes cover's pretty much everything... pretty cool.

These would fit right into the lineup, I don't think they would step on anyone's toes, and be very, very handy.

Sounds a lot like the FA*24 f/2.

Yep! A little slower, in a smaller package, with a rear element for digital.

But more importantly, the FA* 24mm is OOP .

I'd love an AF version of the 17mm f/4 fisheye prime.

Sigma 100-300/4

It wouldn't be that hard for them to knock out at few more! Actually, I just want 1...

Pentax version of Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF with a price tag of $119.99. Would work real nice on a Pentax body with SR. Failing that, a reasonably priced Pentax FA 50 f/1.7 would be OK. Oh, yes, mount that on a Pentax FF body.

The Nikkor 35mm f/1.8.
I'm curious though, about whether photographers on the dark side are thinking '' Why isn't Tokina releasing the 77mm or 31mm for my D700, or 5D mk ii !?''

I havd read threads were a few nikon users were wishing they had the 31mm for nikon. Not so much canon users. But now, I've been hearing more praises for the body, specifically the k5
