What's the one lens currently available you wished they'd make for Pentax dSLR?

if I had a second option, it would be probably a cheapish 85mm

Yup, that's pretty much about it.

Realistically I just want Pentax to be Sigma (with better QC).
Out of 6 lenses I have, 1 is a Pentax. I know they don't care but they should think about it.
If there was a sealed normal zoom from Sigma, I'm sure I'd own this one instead.
If Sigma adds sealing to their lenses, Pentax' lenses have lost me.

Er... I think quite a few people misread the intent of the topic...

I'm actually not talking about imaginary or a wishlist of lenses people wish is on Pentax; but actual lenses that are available now or in the past that was never on a Pentax mount. Something like the 85mm f1.2 or the 17mm Tilt-Shift...

Just a thought.

I found this article How to Use Ultra-Wide Lenses and I do have the DA14mm using it just limited, but then again reading this article I understand a little bit why I'm not getting what I'm looking for with this lens. The DA14 is just Ultra Wide and in the current Pentax line-up there is no Ultra Ultra Wide angle lens other then the 10-17mm fish-eye.

New DA*8mm/f4 or a DA8mm/f4WR would be great for that Ultra ultra Wide.

The A and FA version of the 85mm f1.4 are both incredible lenses, but the canon 85mm f1.2 is just on a higher league. Again, not a canon fanboy, but man, that is such a great lens. The glass on that thing is insane! It sucks up so much light!

I've heard at 1.4 and above it's not as sharp as the FA* 85/1.4

Haha, that could very well be the case. But I feel that's an unfair comparison. To me, that's similar to saying: Sure the Nissan GT-R is a very fast car, but the Nissan Altima is easier to park and easier to drive in typical everyday conditions. True, but that's not why the GT-R was made for. It serves a very special purpose, much like a f1.2 lenses.

I'm the type that feels if you have a f1.2 lens, you should only be using that aperture 90% of the time. It is a very specialize lens, and I can't knock on the built quality of the 85mm f1.2 though.

Maybe we'll be lucky and have a Pentax equivalent one day.

This test begs to differ. The two stand quite equal, with strengths and weaknesses at in different respects.

But then again, the A/FA85 1.4 is awful at doing 1.2...

As for the OP, something in the likes of summilux 35mm/1.4 or summicron 28mm/2.0. And keep it manual focus, autofocus just cannot get the same feel in a lens.
