Sigma 28-105mm 1:2.8-4 lens hood

I'm looking for the part # and/or pointers to finding one of these, that is, the hood going on the bayonet on the lens itself as opposed to a generic one going on the filter thread. Just got a copy of the lens off Ebay, but unfortunately this did not include the original hood so I'd like check whether the original one is worth having. (I was thinking along the lines of someone here probably having this lens and maybe the part# being stamped on the hood; some simple searches I tried did not turn it up).

I also tried to find an original hood for my Sigma 28-105 and failed. I bought a generic rubber round hood online. It's quite functional and folds back for travel and storage.

The part number on my hood is 770-03. (Came with the lens new)

If you find an outlet for original Sigma hoods, let me know. I am looking for one for my 70-210.

They ship to the UK only, seems like they might put an item on Ebay if someone elsewhere wants it though so I made a query about this with their contact form.

Good luck with it. I can sympathize...I lost the original hood to my 24-135mm. Took me at least a year to find one on ebay that was reasonably priced.

I've got one for my own: just thought I'd note that especially if you're just using this lens on digital, one of the three-stage folding rubber ones might be a good thing to have, too: if you don't mind the space they take up and the need to flip them back and forth, these lenses can often use the better coverage you can get that way.
