I thought for sure it was a Chinese site and they forgot to change the currency. In the 'About Us" section, they claim to be Aussies... They also say this:

Our Pricing Structure
We aim to have the lowest prices on every single one of our items. We place a very small mark-up on all of our items to deliver a bargain to you the consumer.

So buy with confidence, you're getting a bargain--they certainly didn't pay a editor.

If that's the " smc PENTAX-DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 ED AL[IF]SDM ", lens - DCW in Sydney has it at AUD$1,399.00.

From 4+ years personal experience with DCW, I can say they're not a "scam site".

Can do a link if asked / permitted.

I estimate it cost me, Pentax, CR Kennedy and Samsung 10 grand by the time I got a good copy of the DA*16-50. The lens travelled both to Japan and Korea, as did my K100D and my GX-10. Maybe thats their price for a good copy. LOL.

I called the shop, they are definitely Aussie, a guy called Mitchell fixed up the price on the website. It was a typo and they didn't sound like scammers. And the new price is considerably cheaper than DCW. Though I am not sure if I'd buy from some webfront store. I usually walk over to CR Kennedy and buy off them.

Having got 2 unusable copies of the 16-50 it will be a while before I'll try again, I'm still lacking any standard zoom lens I'm happy with. It's a lens IMHO that should be bought locally due to seemingly continuing QC issues despite the high price compared to O/S.

They still get search engine benefit from the links, and will rank higher for certain searches. Best to not link to them and not give them the benefit of being linked from PF.
