Takumar 15mm aspheric...i got one!

This rare lens has been on my wish list for a while. This one came up on the forum, & after some very fruitful negotiations with a very genuine & very helpful previous owner.....I now own it!
Here are a couple of images.

Hi pickles! If you want to compare it to some other ultrawides - I have a big bunch (and I am in Melbourne). In fact I have just about every one of them except for the Tal 15/3.5!

Might be interesting to see how the classic compares against the recent offerings..

G'day Bjorn....well, now you can see what she looks like in Australia.
I had a question for you...may as well ask it here....the front element is so immaculate & beautiful, that I would be frightened to try to clean it if I had to!
Did you ever clean it, & if you did, how did you do it?
Cheers, Pickles.

I never cleaned it either, only used a blower and brush to remove dust. I'm sure someone on the takumar club forum will have good advice about this, though - maybe try a post there?
Cheers!

It is wide enough to make you watch your feet and tripod legs when framing

I wish I could compare it to my K 15/3.5 with the later all-spherical lenses... The K 15 is the wide I like the most, even on digital, despite it is quite prone to flareing. It is sharp, great contrast and colour. Post shots, please!

Have had the same experience with my 14mm FF. Photographers feet in a photo is not a good look.

Glad it arrived safely Martin! It looks perfect on your black Spotmatic.
Post some pictures in the film section taken with the lens when you get a chance.

Enjoy,

Phil.

Thanks Phil...I'm pretty happy with it....To put up pictures, I suppose that when I get film developed, I'd also have to get it put onto a disc...& put 'em up from there?
Cheers, Pickles.

Yes just get the lab that you use to process your slide/negative film to do a scan at the same time. Then you can post the scans on the forum.

Phil.
