Ouch meaning bad. Or rather, meaning Photozone-level softness and CA. Maybe Europe got all the crappy samples?

I'd personally ignore the photozone review. I found the lens to be really quite good between 21-100mm and excellent at mid apertures between 24-80. Just really avoid shooting at a distance above 115mm, at all, ever. If you understand those limitations, it's a super great travelling lens for outdoor shooting. Small, weather sealed, very quick focussing in af. I support all the engineering decisions and compromises that Pentax chose with it.

Oh, and a photo....

Actually, I went to try out 3 samples. One was the 'Photozone' one, one was really bad at 18mm but very good at 135 (go figure) and one was very good at 18mm and quite decent at 135mm. So I went for the last one. Will post samples someday.

PS I never consult only one souce of information .

That is not the case with my 18-135. It performs very well at 135mm and I use max focal length frequently:

Just look at this bokeh, amazing for a consumer zoom.

How about a landscape?

I completely agree. This lense is more than usable at 135:
