Absolutely didn't, just saw the last post and as I had an £12 bid running on exactly the same lens just assumed. Also the american date order just doesn't stick/register with me

I'm about to buy this lens. I first thought the seller wrote wrong and meant the 70-210 :P But now after reading this thread I'm curious to see what it delivers when it comes to image quality. I was thinking of giving it to my sister who has a K-r with the 18-55mm only. I will test it on my K-5 before I send it to her though

Will update with the results as soon as I can.

A lot of confusion about this lens.
As far as I know there are two different non SMC telezooms which leads to the confusion.
The non SMC versions are sometimes called PENTAX-F, or TAKUMAR-F or maybe even more names exist, but always 'SMC' is missing in the name.

The 'whatever'-F70-210, which is probably the non SMC version of the SMC-F 70-210
And the 'whatever'-F 70-200, which has the same optics as the later SMC-FA 70-200 power zoom.

That's odd. My Pentax F lenses that I bought in 1989 with my SFx (SF1 in the USA) work exceptionally well with my *istD, K100D, and K-7.

AF works as does metering and aperture control.

I have the Takumar F 70-210mm zoom - it was one of the lenses I bought in '89.

One can buy them quite cheaply these days and they are well worth the money. Don't let naysayers turn you off them. I'll see if I can find some pics - my daughter currently has the K100D and the lens and she's 500km away.
