Hi all

I've wisely decided not to post ANY photographs of my Pentax gear at all, because I suddenly realised that I have a
Distinct Inferiority Complex (DIF). I shall immediately go and stand in the corner of the room whilst bawling my eyes out
.......whaaa, whaaa, whaaa.......

Yours inadequately
.......whaaa, whaaa, whaaa.......blowing nose noisily on handkerchief....lol !

Richard.

Please hide all of your gear

I am making a request to admin/moderator to hide all images as this thread for sure brings all the gear nuts into either ebay and bhphoto and the likes. It is meant to induce LBA for sure. And it does for me. You (fill in the blank), especially those with 10+ lens, limited and multiple bodies. I mean it in a light hearted way, no punt intended. I love you all Pentax gear nuts.

You made me laugh my heart out. I can't sleep because of you, I have to reply this one before bedtime. It is too good to pass. Wait a minute, my wife is asleep, maybe I should try my flash on all the cheap gear that I have .

Thanks,
Hin

Ah these are some great collections but we are just beginners compared to the esteemed Mr Jim King. He has his collection posted on DP Review and I hope he doesn't mind me pasting that profile here (he's a member here as well). There are some beautiful pieces in that collection and I bet it would rival the Pentax museum in Japan. I wonder if he's adopt me??

Plan An R&D chemist by education, I worked for almost 30 years on color design and
pigmentation of OEM exterior automotive finishes during a 40 year career with
DuPont until I retired in July 2004. I still participate in a local professional color
society and occasionally teach color courses. In addition to digital and film
photography, my interests include computers (mostly Macs), cooking, audio/home
theater, gardening, and reading SF. Although I'm retired I still don’t have enough
time to pursue them all!

Hi Peter

I bet Jim has fun and games carting all THAT lot around with him on vacation. His excess baggage charge probably exceeds the GDP of a large African country......lol !!! He must have a very forgiving wife, that's all I can say........

Best regards

Re Peter Zack's post above:

No, I don't mind your posting my gear list here. As you may imagine, it's daunting to consider how to set it it all up for a meaningful photograph. I suppose that I will eventually get around to arranging my gear in some sort of logical subgroups so that the size of each is not too large. Maybe someday...

That's it Jim, I'm buying the food & drinks if you let me help you pose everything....

Besides, how else are you going to take a photo of everything?? Where's your backup plan? I need to bring my lenses and camera for you to take the pics with.... the ultra wide angles of course... somehow I think only the fisheye can do this justice...

I just want to see all of them in one place - now that would be a sight!!!

Cheers,
Marc (this is all in good fun of course) Langille

Hi Jim,
I think Peter may have a point. I do believe your collection would rival that of the Pentax museum .

Hi Jim (jamesk8752)

Having scanned your collection, I now feel positively abstemious !! Does your house have reinforced floorboards by any chance ? Oh and just out of curiosity, precisely how DO you manage to transport that little lot around with you......in an armoured Hummer perhaps ?
Judging by conventional standards it seems there must obviously be TWO distinct types of LBA, firstly the common-or-garden variety and secondly the 'King-sized' category !....sorry about the terrible pun, but the opportunity was simply too good to resist !!!

Best regards
Richard

P.S. If EVER the wife starts to complain about my hobby, I'll simply show her your list....that should 'shut-her-up' for a while !

I finally had a day that I was bored enough to photograph my humble equipment. The ME Super and the M-50mm f1.4 I purchased new in 1980, then the Vivitar 75-205 the following year. Fast forward to 2007, and thats when I got the rest of the stuff.

M-50mm f1.4
Vivitar 75-205mm f3.8
Vivitar 105mm f2.5 macro
Kiron 28-105mm f3.2-
DA 18-55mm
DA 50-200mm
Super Takumar 28mm f3.5
Super Takumar 35mm f3.5
Super Takumar 55mm f1.8
Super Takumar 135mm f3.5

ME Super
K100d

I also have a Sunpack 144 flash, and a Focal bounce and zoom flash, and a super old Pentax AF16.

Sorry for the crappy quality, I used my wifes Nikon E995 for the shot.
