Hi Frank, is the 31mm lens hood the Heliopan 58mm LONG hood? I've only found two sources on the net, One at B&H and the other at Teamworks UK. The old Tak 49mm long hoods work OK with the 43 and 77 but I need a 58mm for the 31.

Take care,

David
No, it's not the LONG but SHORT hood, about 15mm to 20mm long. Works great on the 31. The LONG version will cause vignetting as I tested.

I bought it from a local store which carries some old stock from Heliopan, a very well built and nice looking hood I'd say. I've got several other versions as well. Pity Heliopan didn't make these in 49mm size, otherwise it'd be perfect for us Pentaxians (we have so many lenses in 49mm thread size ). The shop only has some LONG versions left, no more SHORT ones ...

A recent one. Only thing missing is the k100d and pentax 18-35 that was used to take the shot.

That's alot gear you got there. Those ancient cameras look really nice.

Nah, we don't need 21 lenses, probably one 18-250 lens will do most of the photos that most of us take everyday. Sometimes we buy things because we like to have them, not because we need them.

I can't understand those watch/card or some other junk collectors, but I guess they don't understand us either

I just happen to have several boxes of used 3.5" floppies for sale. I think they are collectors' items, and worth a bundle.

Thanks Frank, I have changed my order to Teamworks UK to a 58mm short version.

BTW A good metal lens hood for the 43 and 77 lens is the old Takumar 1:3.5 135mm 1:4 150mm or 1:3.5 135mm 1:4 150mm 1:5.6 200mm metal lens hoods. I have just bought one of each from a local photo shop.

Thanks Again

David

Sadly I don't have any photos of my gear, but maybe I'll just list them here:

K10D + grip

Pentax 12-24mm f4
Pentax 16-46mm f4
Pentax SMC-M 200mm f4

Ricoh Rikenon XR 55mm f1.2

Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro

The Rikenon is a nice lens. Very well built, fast enough for very shallow DOF and I think it's rather rare, too, so I'm kinda proud of it.

I will take a pic of them if I can get another camera. If I use mine there wouldn't be much left to take pics of.

Well I don't really have the time or inclination to photograph the whole shebang so I'm gonna just list them:
Bodies:
K10D; DS; ZX-5N; Vivitar 4000S
Lenses:
Zenitar 16mm F2.8 fisheye; Pentax 18-55 kit lens; Sigma 24mm F1.8; Tamron 28-75 F2.8; Pentax A 35-105 F3.5; Pentax K 50 F1.2; Pentax FA 50 F1.4; Pentax DA 50-200; Pentax FA 77 F1.8 ltd; Tamron 90 F2.8 macro; Pentax K 135 F2.5; Pentax K 300 F4.

Flashes, tripods and a bunch of other stuff.

NaCl(I thought I had 13 lenses, but I can only count 12, but I'm at work, maybe missing one)H2O

Well my turn I guess

Here's some of it. and I'll add another pic later of other stuff.
Taken with the trusty K110D and 18-55mm:

Then the rest of what's currently in the back pack:

There's a *ist D and grip FA 50mm f1.4
K10D and grip with F SMC 70-210 f4-5.6
Tamron 28-75 F2.8 Di
Sigma 50-500 F4-6.3 EX
FA 20mm f2.8
Limited 43mm
Limited 77mm
Sigma EX12-24mm f4.5-5.6
FA 28-70 f4
Sigma 28-300mm DL f3.5-6.3
Sigma EX 105mm f2.8 macro 1:1
2 x Vivitar 1:1 macro 2x teleconverters with contacts
Pentax TC 1.7 AF
Pentax K Mount 300mm f4 (with added collar)
FA 50mm f2.8 macro 1:1
FA*80-200 f2.8
Coming FA*300 f4.5
shot taken with k110D and 18-55mm of course not in the pics.

The "hole" in the picture (on the right side) is the missing DA*16-50mm that just went back today due to huge backfocusing issues.
You might also note the straps are mounted on the left side of each body to make portrait shooting and grip use easier.
