That's the first time I've seen the Bigma attached to the K10D. Sure makes one realize how it got it's nick name.

Here are my lenses from the other night - 3 are missing.

For some reason, I never take pictures of the bodies (K10, DS, DL, Spotmatic, P3, ZX30 - 5 of which have seen a lot of use, 1 of which came with 2 of the lenses below and has never been used by me).

(Taken with my digicam to preserve lenses for the photo. )

M35/2.8 and Tokina 28/2.8 have oily blades. =(

Nothing too special here save some rampant LBA issues in the back left corner. See if you can spot the others lol.

Roscot, Do you have any pictures with that Sigma 100-300f4? Curious as it has been on my radar screen pending release of the 60-250 pentax (which who knows when it will happen).....

Thanks,

Greg

I have few test shots. Nothing of consequence yet.

What I am finding is, that for the most part, this is a very fine lens. It is reasonably sharp at f4.0, and very sharp by f8.0. Good color rendition, and contrast. I like the fact that it is internal zoom and focus, and is a constant aperture. AF is fast and accurate, as in the seagull series below. What I don't particularly like is the bokeh can sometimes be harsh. In some situations it can be downright ugly. Unfortunately I do not have any examples of the bad bokeh. I either try and fix it or delete the shot as unacceptable. It is at it's worst at 300mm, long distance like #6 below. Focused close in, bokeh can be pretty darn good.

I bought this lens to shoot air shows and some sports. In those roles it should perform very well. In all, good lens and worth the price.

Hope this helps you.

Here are a few examples.

Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/1000s f/10.0 at 250.0mm iso200

Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/800s f/7.1 at 300.0mm iso200

Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/800s f/7.1 at 300.0mm iso200

Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/800s f/8.0 at 300.0mm iso200

Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/1000s f/9.0 at 300.0mm iso200

I had to apply some gausian blur to the background of this one to make the bokeh acceptable.
Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/1000s f/9.0 at 300.0mm iso200

Pentax K10D ,Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG 1/640s f/8.0 at 180.0mm iso200

Most were gifts from people not into photography any more, two were kit lenses that came with the cameras and another two were ones we bought.

Although for LSA, this little story might be appropriate

Ah HAHA! Yea I usually have lenses all over the place but never all in the same cabinet. She knows I have too much for my own good but at least not the whole story of it, lol.

I hesitate to post this photo, taken with a crappy POS (oops...I mean P&S). Missing are a couple of generic zooms, but we are all probably better off for it.
