Portrait/Portraiture Club?

Hi all,

I was trying to look for this topic in the forum but couldn't find any.

Can you help me start this forum and post your best portrait/portraiture shots with any lens (at any focal lengths, Manual, auto, prime, zoom, color or B&W) mounted on a pentax camera?

Purposes of this club?
How to correctly position the camera
Effects of lenses and lights used
Techniques
others....
and lastly, to show the true beauty of portrait/portraiture photography.

Am still trying to look into my photos on what to attach and share here but in the mean time if anyone has something to share for us to start this please do so...

Thanks in advance to all

I do not know if it is my best one, but:

Technique:
Pentax A 50 F1.7 @ 1.7 on Pentax K20D
The only thing I tried to focus correctly on a moving child - needed definitely more than one picture to do that

K20D + FA50 @1.4
Was a dark balcony with only a few dim street lamps nearby.
Had to focus manually since it was hunting quite harshly.

seems like there's still no portrait club to date... So I'll try to vitalize this old thread.

I quite like street portraits, he's my link to one of mine, as the images I feel require the background story to go with them.

"Miss B"
Very late in the afternoon on a summersevening gave the glow from the little available light there was. Shot at 6400iso. 6400! No problem with the K5 and a little PP. I used (and still use) Dxo Filmpack for B&W conversion.
Pentax K5 and A50 @1.7
Dxo Filmpack Ilford XP2

"Joost"

Lots of trial and lots of error with bouncy bouncy kids. Create a relaxed and comforable atmosphere first. Play a little, then get the camera. Fast focusing lens helps (i find the FA50 to be pretty quick). I remember Joost was very close to camera. This was probably at minimum focusing distance. Keep that in mind as well.

Pentax K20 and FA50 @1.4

"first encouter/on the dutch isles"
Pentax K200 and DA18-55

Just a portait with the negative space of the beach and all. This image holds precious memories as I met her there on the Isle of Texel. She's my wife now. She literally just walked into my life.

"Smokey Joe"
Pentax K200 and FA50@1.4

Smokey Joe just a straightforward portrait of a guy with a cigarette. The roomlight sucked but image is still okay, in my opinion, with the smoke and burning cigarette and all. Limited by ISO performance of max 1600 (Pentax K200). Modern cameras will probably fare much better. Shot with the FA50 1.4. I find that lens excellent for portraiture work.

My first attempt at a senior portrait

Handheld with natural light, my model was awesome. We were just intending on doing some test shots but she nailed it, and (to my amazement) I was able to focus fairly well with the help of my KatzEye focus screen. The lens was a Rokinon 85mm @ f 1.8 on a K-5, 1/50, ISO 80.
