finally find this thread ,, and dont have to make another ones..

i just want to ask about this 200/2,8 range

it doesnt matter tamron or sigma ..but not pentax DA ..cause i can not afford it :|

which ones is better in this long throw zoom (range 135-200/2,8)

Tamron 70-200/2,8 : * slow in AF ( how slow it is in pentax body ??)
* beter IQ

Sigma 70-200/2,8 EX DG WITHOUT OS : - faster in AF ( offcourse, it had HSM :| )
- somehow soft in corner at long zoom

any opinion are welcome because im only have a budget 500 usd...and im plan to shoot some sport and wild life with TC.

thanks you

It's at 200mm f4.0. All of the exif data should be intact.

I've only published a couple that I've taken at f/2.8, they're not the newest but here they are:

no doubt about it, the tammy is better than the sigma at F2.8.. i tried it...but I didn't get it as I wanted to photograph my sons at basketball..the tammy wouldn't keep up with that ..so I sacrificed some image quality at F2.8 for greater focusing speed ....also I feel the tammy has better IQ, needing less PP work in adjusting the image contrast/saturation ...but thats only a few keystrokes to correct to your liking.....if focus speed is important to you..than a sigma would be better IMO

Autofocus speed is absolutely fine on a k-x. Not fantastic, but actually very good by almost any standard, considering the zoom range. Besides, autofocus speed is always going to vary, sometimes substantially from body to body. it's much faster on a k-x than a k1000

i would go for the tamron. the autofocus everyone is complaining about is actually quite good. on newer bodies such as the k-x, it is fine. not fantastic, but very good, actually. and it is not very loud either, actually quieter AND much faster than my pentax smc da 50-200 WR lens. so forget about the slow/loud worries. dunno a whole lot about the sigma 70-200, but I DO know that it was outperformed in picture quality in almost every aspect by the tamron. i have the tamron and the bokeh is the BEST i've seen on all the lenses i've owned. including primes!!! it also has an EXCELLENT i.q. it's ability to make fine adjustments with closer subjects to get absolute sharp focus is fantastic. i believe that whatever the tamron may be lacking for a new zoom, it will make up for in photo quality. it certainly has for me, and i'm glad i didn't spend the extra money on a sigma or the FA 80-200. there have been some defect issues with the aperture reported on this lens, but i've not had any problems so far, and i've worked this lens hard. the problem seemed to be mostly reported in the beginning of it's release, so hopefully it's been out long enough for the defective ones to have been run through, and the problem acknowledged and fixed by tamron.

oh, and the tamron is probably sharpest at 2.8. even at 200mm/2.8, it is VERY sharp!! one reason i like this lens so much!!

great pics!!! that's a lot of patience and hard work catching those! i think the tammy may have you beat on the bokeh, though! either way, we love our lenses
