Originally I also wanted to buy Tamron 70-200 - until I tried one. IQ was great, but its size and weight... definitely not something I'd like to carry and handhold. I've purchased Sigma 50-150 recently and am very happy with it. Great IQ, good size and weight, and I also enjoy the fast HSM AF.

If the offer is still on you can find the Sigma 50-150/2.8 HSM in Pentax mount at Ffordes (Scotland) for an amazing 400 GBP.
That's a good price! Damn, why didn't I know this 2 weeks ago... could have saved some money.

Where did you find the 50-150mm still for sale new two weeks ago? And how much did you pay?

I bought mine in November from B&H for $749, but that's before everybody stopped carrying them.

Edgar - see my post above. As far as I know Ffordes still have them in stock and you can get them for GBP400 less VAT (17.5%) plus postage if being sent to the USA etc. I just received mine today.

I already have the 50-150mm. I was just curious where simico bought it two weeks ago since it was already scarce at that point.

I ordered it in a local shop here in Budapest (Hungary) and a few days later I received it. I payed €690 (including 25% VAT), that's the lowest local price here.

You live in Budapest? That must be a fun place for photography. Here in Indiana I'm surrounded by cornfields, housing complexes, and shopping centers.

I lived in Bulgaria for a couple years, and there were a lot of sights, but sadly the communists had torn down a great number of historical structures. I've heard that Budapest wasn't treated as badly by the commies.

Yes, we have lots of old, historical buildings, streets, places. Movie makers love them, several "Hollywood movies" and music clips were filmed here. To be honest architecture photography doesn't interest me, maybe because I can see these every day. But I don't want to go off topic and derail the thread.
