I would think it would hold up pretty decently. The lack of a metal mount would concern me more with longer lenses like the DA 55-300.

If I'm not mistaken, that's among the sharpest results for any Pentax lens they tested, ever. Is that still with the K10D body?

If so, then wow!

I would like for him to re-do the DA 40 on the k5 so we can get a clear picture of which lens is the better performer. The DAL 35 just looks amazing.

To be fair, all the lenses should be re-tested on a K5.

You can calculate the resolution of lenses at 16 MP if you know LW/PH at 10 MP. We know the resolution of Pentax lenses at 10 MP sensor. And we know than K-5 has maximal LW/PH - 2750. K10D - 2350 LW/PH.

that would mean, just add 400, right?

anyway, if that were the case, in comparison to the FA35/2, the MTF results are pretty consistent regarding the FA35 being strong all over the frame. I think it's safe to say that the DA35/2.4 is a baby FA35. the reduction of resolution along the borders and corners would possibly been made to produce a smoother, less busier bokeh. although it still performed pretty good across the frame.

Optically the DA 35 is rated 3.5 stars vs the FA 35 @ 4 stars. That agrees with the photos and informal tests I've seen so far.

No. There is formula how to calculate. Falk Lumo knows. But he will be busy for the nearest 4 weeks.

I don't think you need to wait for Falk Lumo (falconeye).

Multiply the lens' resolution as measured on the K10D by 2750/2350, or 1.17. The 1.17 factor is the ratio of the maximum resolution of the K-5 compared to that of the K10D.

Edit: This appears to be incorrect, as pointed out in later posts. Sorry!

Unless Klaus publishes a conversion factor, there is no way of figuring it out for now. The figures are rather arbitrary (depend on AA filter strength and heavily depend on the amount of sharpening used) so results across cameras are not transferrable.
