Hi Guys
Well i finally got my grubby paws on my new 70-200 2.8 tammy.. and was allowed to open it (my b'day pressie)
I have used it for about 20 shots and am happy with the IQ, no AF adjustment required in camera, however on closer inspection i have something on the inside of the lens...
it looks like an oily dust speck. so the speck has stuck to the inside of the end element and the oil has spread. Its either that of if you have ever seen weld spatter hit glass it creates a small circle around it... i'm not saying its weld spatter but thats how it looks, i also cant get a picture.....
the speck is visible easily by the eye and the circle of oil or whatever it is is around 2.5-3mm across (1/10 inch)
maybe they overoiled it to stop the aperture sticking
anyone seen anything like it?
Thats the disspointing bit....
now the happy bit..
As i bought it from BHphoto, i emailed them asking what i can do, and mentioning i had the sagemax warranty. I got a very nice email back from them this morning (time difference sucks!) saying that i could return it and they would exchange it and the return would be free! I'm just waiting final instructions now.
Again I am very happy with their service, and as i always state, i dont mind if i buy faulty goods, as long as the fault is rectified with a minimum of hassle.. I dont know how you can go wrong buying from these guys...
