Hey send a picture of your rig when you set it up--I'd like to see how these old-style adapters look.
My macro-extension tube setup is really easy to do--and since the end that couples to a trinocular microscope tube is just really a friction-based fit (not a custom sized-to fit)--it is very flexible. that is to say you can switch-out between different microscopes.
Not as flexible as shooting through an eyepiece--but if you need the phototube setup--it's mighty close.
Like to see if your coupler works for you as well.
