Bought a Tamron 60-300 sp & TC...

Hey folks.

Regretted missing out on hinman's Tamron 60-300 for sale a few days ago. Decided to watch for another one & snagged this on eBay, along with BBAR 2X TC & P/K mount adapter:

tamron sp 60-300mm 1:38-5.4 lens for Pentax 35mm nice! - eBay (item 160556592525 end time Mar-15-11 12:50:09 PDT)

It looks like it's in pretty good shape. Think I did ok?

Bobbo :-)

It looks good.

Though keep in mind though that copies do vary.
I ended-up purchasing three 60-300 in the run of a year(for parts) and found one stood out from the rest in terms of IQ.

The good news is that they can often be had for very good prices(45-100 USD). I managed to build a complete kit using parts(hood, case, etc) from each purchase.

PS. don't forget the PK/a adapter if you don't have one. You'll be glad you did to help with focusing.

The seller is a sheriff's department in Wisconsin, so I'm not super worried about that. I called them & told them how to pack it for safe shipment.

And even the best seller starts with zero.

Hey John.

The lens comes with a P/K adapter. My other manual lenses work with focus assist. Does the adaptall require an "A" adapter for that function to work for some reason?

Thought I'd keep an eye out for an "A" adapter later, just can't afford it at the moment.

Whoops, already commented in the thread that was lower in the forum (I read from older "new posts" up)

Since it came with the TC, that's a very respectable deal

I own this lens and Tele--the copy you got is in better shape than mine. That tele is very, very good--I love mine. yes, you did very well indeed. BTW, I do not usually pair the 2 of these together: I have a split prism which darkens a after 5,6, so adding a 2x tele would make MFing near impossible. Though infinity would still be easy of course.

Congratualtions and good luck--the lens delivers great IQ--even @ 300mm.

Yeah, I have a split screen that gets pretty tough around f8. It's doable, but you gotta have your eye in just the right spot to see both halves.

I figured the 60-300 was about as good as I could do right now with my current money situation. We'll see what happens. :-)

Im having one of these great zooms but Im having issues with infinity at anything lower then roughly 120mm.
I tried to reawaken another old thread about the issue and I could use any ideas on the subject.
