i want to have jupiter-9 /m42 mount ...
43 mm is enough .. but prime lens is always tempted me when it comes in "mid-range"
70 mm or 77 mm is wonderfull.... but in 1,5X crop sensor... 80mm is fit in my opinion

I have been having a similar debate. However, mine is if I should sell the 77mm and buy the 70. I find myself mostly shooting 2.2 with the 77 also; but, my question is will the 70 primarily be a 2.8 shooting lens? I like idea of the more compact 70mm but like the speed of the 77. If the 70 is a 2.8 shooting lens it I would never make the switch.

Depends. I shoot the FA 77 at 2.2 because I want that DOF, not for sharpness. Both lenses are crazy sharp wide open. The DA 70 is certainly as sharp wide open (or close enough, anyways). You don't need to stop it down at all for sharpness... just for DOF control.

The DA70 is plenty sharp wide open, I don't hesitate to use it at 2.4 (I'd guess over half my shots with this lens are at f/2.4)

sounds familiar with my FA 43 Ltd, I don't mind using it at 1.9, but that shallow DoF can be unforgiving

Well guys, all things considered it's sure looking like I'll be getting the 100mm Macro, probably get the 77mm Ltd down the road 2 or 3 lenses.. next up will be a UWA/WA lens.. any ideas? I'm already thinking the poll will include the DA15 , DA 21 , DA 14, and maybe a Sigma 20 or 10-20?

Be sure to include the Sigma 10-20 and the new Samyang 8mm and 14mm lenses.

I would prefer something you could walk around with all day.. that looks larger than my 70-210 Tamron Adaptol! Let alone for its price I could probably get the 100 macro and a DA15 Ltd and be done!
