The long term weather forecast is warm, humid and chance of T-storms.
You want to get up early and do sun rise photos. Sun set is also nice.

If you are staying in a Hotel in Siem Reap, take a tuuk-tuuk or a taxi.
It is all very cheap.

Take enough time for Siem Reap, you'll need more than 1 day, first day use a guide, second day do your own thing.

Nearby, you can visit local villages on pole houses, or the floating villages on the Tonlesap lake. Ask around, people will take you. You can have lunch in one of the houses of the families taking you around the lake for a few $$.

Cambodia is a very interesting and dramatic country, worth while visiting!

On equipment: I shot 90% of my photo's with my DA*16-50mm, weather sealed helps over there. Take a 55-300mm with you as well. That should do it.

Have a look at this small photo impression of our trip:

Looking forward to seeing more shots. I hope you had a good time. I just saw your post about a cheapie tripod, I hope you didnīt go this route & instead bought a decent tripod capable f supporting the weight of a DSLR plus lens.
