SMC takumar 55/2 delimiter removal help needed

The SMC Takumar 55/2 seems to be a 55/1.8 with a delimiter restricting it to f/2. I need help in disassembling the lens for removing the delimiter.

Not worth it at all.

I use the k55 at the first stop, f2, almost all the time anyways. You don't gain too much, and you could easily ruin the lens (or even if it still works, you could harm the lens' sharpness).

I have the lens up for sale in the marketplace and thought I would take a shot at it if it is not too difficult. Thanks!

Ah! Don't sell it like that! It would also be dishonest to market it as a K55 1.8 if you did this...

It's difficult. You would need to be pretty much an expert at this stuff to get in there.

Why bother, you aren't gaining anything by doing this, and may well wreck the lens.
If you need to ask how to do this, you really shouldn't be doing it.

There is really no real difference between f1.8 and f2. You risk ruining the lens, I would say just let it be.

I don't intend to misrepresent it as a 1.8 - it currently is listed as a 55/2

But I would like to open it up if I can tinker with it. And if I ever put it back on the marketplace, I would clearly market it as such - a 55/2 with the delimiter removed.

I've opened up quite a few Minolta Maxxum primes w/o much of a problem once I saw the disassembly diagrams on pbase.

But this might be too much work to get only 24% more light thru the viewfinder.
