Ben, what lenses do you usually use with the k10d for your job? It's incredible you had never tried out the fa 50/1.4 before.

the reason he hasnt used FA so much, apparently, is because Pentax wants him to use DA, you know, the new stuff....

Let me see...Hmmm. OK, I have used the 21, 31, 40, 70, 100 macro, 16-45 and 12-24. Haven't had a chance to use my 50 I just got.

Still waiting on my FA50 to come in ... I always get that ... takes forever to get anything over here.

I am also surprised as well that you haven't used an FA50 before as well ... and for the price .. it really is a bargain prime that can produce some really really nice images.

I have used the 21, 31, 40, 70 100 macro, 12-24 and the 16-45. As I just received the 50 f1.4, I haven't had the occasion to use it professionally.

Benjikan,

Have you had the opportunity to use, or put your hands on, either the DA* 16-50 or DA* 50-135?

I'd be really curious as to your assessment of those two lens.

Well, if you're not that averse to ordering online, you can get stuff much quicker, and Pentax does have international warranty. I also have problems with our local distributor getting stuff quickly. Even then, they tend to overprice items, which I think is also prevalent there in your country.

As it is, my 50 is on it's way from Japan as I type this. Bought it from B&H.

Just got the 50-135 Star lens ten minutes ago. Incredibly quiet, light and for what I have shot i.e. about ten photos, very sharp..

Will post asap...

I also got 50/1.4 couple days ago and I must say I'm really glad with how it's working. Love the indoor shot's as I take photos for a Youth Cultural Center we have nearby, here in Slovenia. Concerts, people and so on, I already love it and I have it for so little time.

Three samples if anyone's interested:

1100ISO, 1/30s, 1.4

1100ISO, 1/15s, 1.4

1600ISO, 1/30s, 1.4

Now the light at the last one was really at absolute zero. It was outside and there was just one light quite far away. I love it
