Looky here:

SMC PENTAX-A 1:5.6 400MM LENS AS-IS | eBay

Jimmied-up lens mount, generally beat to Hell, and I think maybe the rear element's gone... All this can be yours for the low, low price of $400, plus $30 shipping.

Deal of the century, no?

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)

I've noticed on the longer lenses that I own that the rear element is actually tucked pretty far in the barrel away from the mount, so maybe glass hasn't altogether fallen out of this lens. But yeah, it looks pretty beat to shit otherwise regardless, and this particular ebay seller has a lot of stuff like that that's been posted here before

It is described as damaged, with some graphic images, that poor lens. Not worth the asking price, even for parts.

That seller from Israel has posted other similarly “damaged” lenses. The seller must scavenge through rubbled buildings after an air strike looking for camera gear!

Makes for a good laugh!

Phil.

Well sure $400 is, um, a bit on the high side but hey it's worth a try. Maybe someone drunk, careless and stupid bites--who knows? It's not like he's misrepresenting it. I'll bet someone offers him $50-75 for parts and he takes it .

this was the same seller who sold a brutalized FA*300/4.5. I guess some bit on the lens. I dunno if the buyer got it working especially on it's horrendous state.

Crack use seems to abound on Ebay these days. It seems like every time I look for a lens or other item that should cost about $300, there is someone in Europe, Asia or the middle east offering it for $1300 as a BIN. I sometimes wonder it these listings are legitimate.

Here's a good one we've been watching. Even if it was real (which I doubt), it's already been bid up to levels at least 50% higher than it's worth (on a good day).

Edit: link fixed.
