Is the Tokina RMC 500mm f8 Mirror Lens a T-mount?

I know where I might be able to get one for a good price, but it's a Nikon mount. The seller didn't know whether it has a detachable T-mount as a lot of the others do. I thought if it were a T-mount, I could swap out the Nikon adapter for a Pentax adapter.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)

I don't have this lens, but based on these reviews Tokina 500mm f8 Mirror Lens Lens Reviews - Pentax Third-Party Lens Review Database and a quick google search RMC Tokina 500mm 1:8 - Camerapedia
it sounds as if this lens doesn't come with a T mount.

Too bad, because it seems to be a good one.

See if you can obtain a good resolution picture of the lens mount and post it here, maybe someone can determine if it is a T-mount or not and/or possibly convert it to a PK mount. Nikon lenses have longer registration distance than Pentax, so converting it to Pentax is certainly possible and still retain infinity focus.

The Tokina 500mm mirror came in a k-mount version. The show up in various places from time to time including the Marketplacy, FleaBait, KEH, Blue Moon etc. etc. so I'm not sure it is worth the trouble to convert one. However, the Nikon mount would be the most straight forward to convert.

There was a Tokina 500mm produced in M42 mount. A copy is for sale on ebay now. If you could get a pic of the mount, it might be possible to determine if that lens is M42.
