I already have one of these beasts.....mine is lovely, but perhaps may lose out slightly to this example, which is apparently "NEW"!

Damn, that's packaged as if it were brand new! I was able to get a 50mm macro in this condition earlier- it was lovely!

I would almost give them the $50 it's at now just to hear the story on that one. If it really is new old-stock then it has been sitting on a shelf at some mom & pop camera store since the early '70's.

This is an amazing deal for collection purposes!!!

From a practical perspective though, I didn't find this lens to be a very good on modern sensors due to PF ans CA. And though it was correctable(for the most part), it made using a TC pretty much awash. And a second issue was the min. focusing distance which was on the long side for me.

A new Super-TAKUMAR...another?! That looks like what I got a few years ago -- my S-M-C got the brand new case and caps, I sold the pristine lens last year in the old S-M-C case...

It's late version of m42 mount, it came with aperture linkage for metering wide-open on cameras like ES or ESII.
afaik all SMC- and super- takumars are m42 mount.

The seller also has a S-M-C Tak 500 4.5 listed as new. PENTAX SMC TAKUMAR 500mm f/4.5 TELEPHOTO LENS w/CASE | eBay.

It comes with a tripod smaller than the lens.
