What adapter do I use to attach my lens to my dslr?

Hello everyone,
I bought a Soligor 70-150mm f3.5 auto zoom 55mc lens from Ebay. In the discription they said it works with pentax film dslr. I have a K-r. What adapter do I use to attach the lens to my camera?

If it is a Pentax k or KA mount you don't need anything. If it is a screw mount you need an adapter.

what does the bottom of a screw mount lens look like? This lens has 2 lever pieces that extend out from the lens that are on opposite sides of each other( I guess one adjusts the aperture and the other the shutter speed).

That sounds like a Canon mount to me, in which case you may have been misled.

EDIT http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-99.html

If it looks like the first mount in the list, its Canon, and you need to lodge a complaint against the guy who described it as a Pentax.

Can you snap a quick picture of the mount with your cell phone or something?

It's probably an Olympus OM mount, or maybe a Petri mount (see the link Sagitta posted). Maybe the seller confused Pentax and Petri.

After rereading the link Iposted, Soligar did make interchangable lenses by the looks of it back in the 70's. Theres a chance it could be that as well.

That could also possibly be a Miranda mount, actually, depending what the poster is trying to describe. Soligor did make some of those (Same company)

Got a link to the Ebay listing? There's probably photos there that we could see.

Like a big short screw (bolt) Hollow else the light can't come through. See e.g.

I was able to contact the seller and he says he was sorry that the lens did not fit my camera and he will take back the lens and refund my money. I guess I will be more careful and make sure that next time the lens is a k mount lens. Thanks everyone for your help.

This is the original Pentax one: PentaxWebstore Mount Adapter K(35m m Screwmount to Bayonet). There are 3rd party ones available; some of them (the ones with a flange) don't allow to focus at infinity.

Be aware that there are a couple of screwmounts; the above is for M42 !
