Sticking focus mechanism on the DA55-300mm lens

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem - my brand new DA 55-300 zoom lens (5 days old) has developed a sticking focus problem and zoom problem - the focus mechanism will not operate and the zoom is very stiff and does not return to the 55mm position.

I will have to send it in for repair or replacement but I'm really disappointed by this this.

I had that lens but never experienced that problem nor heard of that problem.

I was hoping to see that this is not a highly unusual problem but apparently it is! I'm the first to report this issue - it may be batch related so others may now start to say that they've had the same problem - we'll see.

Anyway, the good news is that I bought it from Amazon and they have been fantastic in handling this problem. I could not have dealt with a better company. They have made a customer for lfe, which is what good custimer service is supposed to do.

I'll be looking to buy more camera equipment from them as time goes by.
