What influenced your DA15 Limited Purchase?

I'm curious to measure in some feeble way the influence jsherman's "The 15 Limited Controls My Mind" thread has had on this community's purchasing decisions. I know seeing page after page of people posting wonderful photos and squee-ing in delight was a major factor in helping me pull the trigger on my own purchase, and it seems to be the case for a lot of others, as well.

I don't think it's worth using this thread to discuss the actual merits of the lens itself, and why it might be a good addition to someone's kit. I mostly just want to see if that darn bankacount-ivorous thread can be traced as inspiration for many a visit to B&H's website.

[edit] PLEASE NOTE: for quasi-scientific purposes, this poll is intended only for people who already own the lens and NOT for any who may be planning a purchase nor for those who have never had and never will have any interest in it

It's a shame I can't edit the options at this point. I wanted to change "my fate was sealed" to "I slid helplessly into the gaping maw of fate". Alas!

Sorry, the thread is great once I had the lens but I don't find other opinions of a lens typically enough. AFter renting the 15, 12-24 and trying the 14 though it was a no brainer.

I bought mine long before the thread was made. My influences were pretty much the performance I'd seen of the lens, it's size and weight, and my need for a small wide angle.

However, I must say that other, similar threads have certainly influenced my purchases. :x

Ok, I surrender, put me down as the latest victim of the jsherman thread, 5 mins ago. I did try to resist, for something like 3 months.
Of course, I used the forum link.
The lens came back in stock at B&H at 10.03PM ADST yesterday. Decided to sleep on it hoping t would be sold out. No such luck. Discussed the purchase with the Finance Minister over breakfast. She's a hopeless Finance Minister, she agreed with minimal fuss. I thnk she loves the portraits I take of her, must really find a better Devil's advocate.
Dratted LBA. Jsherman, you are evil

LOL! Great story selar. I particularly loved the part about hoping it'd be sold out. Oh, and congrats.

The da15 was already high on my list of wide angle lenses i wanted to get before i even saw the thread, the biggest apeal was the size and quaility. Then i came across the thread and it was confirmed i was getting the right lens for me.
So im option 3.

I was looking for a wide angle, probably a zoom like the DA12-24 or Sigma 10-20.
Once I saw the DA15 thread, I had ordered the lens within a few hours.

I also just ordered it today from B&H. Sold off a bunch of other stuff recently so I don't even have to sneak it into the house!

Ha. I bought mine just before Jay. Read his initial post starting the thread to see if there's any significance to that...

I see the line. So what you're saying, Marc, is it's really all your fault.
