Recently I sent my 55-300 lens back to the CRIS center for warranty repair. However because of the "type" of repair it required it was not covered by the warranty even though I told them what had happened. So anyway I was looking on B&H for a cheap solution and stumbled upon the Sigma 50-200mm tele lens.

Does anyone have or has anyone used this lens with there camera? If so I would like to know what your opinion of this product.

I have no information on this lens, but have the DA 50-200, and am reasonably happy with it. You should be able to buy one for about the same price as the Sigma. My copy outperformed the copy of the DA 55-300 I bought, so I returned the latter. I had wanted one lens to replace my 100-300F (not the "good" version) and 50-200, but the 55-300 produced poorer results than either lens (at least on my 6 & 10mp cameras), and I just wasn't ambitious enough to keep shipping copies around until I came upon a good one. Basically I decided that for the moment, the lenses I had were good enough.

I had this lens for a few months. It isn't a bad lens, whatsoever. It's a lot of fun if you use it with manual aperature on a digital body (M-mode). I was able to get some of my nicest action shots with this lens. Disable the optical stabilization on the lens, as you won't need it on a Pentax body. The lens feels well-constructed and comes with the reversible hood. I sold mine since I wanted to focus on manual focus lenses and didn't need autofocus. I think it's a good value for a digital AF lens.
