Best 24-28mm prime for K-5?

I've got the DA15mm limited and DA35mm limited. Looking for something between the two -- 24-28mm would be great. the 21 limited is a bit too slow for me with a bit too busy bokah. The 31mm FA limited is a bit too long. Suggestions?

There is a Sigma 28mm f/1.8 lens you might want to check out...

What about the FA* 24/2
I've never used one but it looks pretty sweet.
I do have a F 28/2.8 that I love. Great little lens.

My A24/2.8 was a nice lens. FA*24/2 is probably the best, but not everyone seems to like it or get a good copy. FA28/2.8 AL is a good lens which I like better than the F28/2.8, but others feel the opposite.

I have FA20/2.8 and FA31 so I don't have such a big gap. Otherwise I'd probably be looking at an FA*24/2.

I've also kept my FA28/2.8 AL as a cheaper alternative I still enjoy using. And I have a DA*16-50 so I feel comfortable without a 24mm prime.

Some people like the Sigma Wide II (available in AF or MF) 24/2.8. I'm not a big fan of them - for one, both the MF and AF copies I had were not nice IQ to me unless stopped down at least one stop, and even then I was ambiguous about the way it rendered images.

So, personally I'd recommend FA28 AL or FA*24 (FA*24 is the only lens on this list I haven't owned, but it's likely the one you should consider). Alternatively, getting both FA20 and FA28 is good - only slightly more expensive than FA*24 alone, I think.

I have a K24/2.8.

This is a generally great lens - IQ is fantastic, even wide open, and distortion is negligible.

It is not the easiest to focus to distances between infinite and about 6ft, but after that it's fine. Also, the bokeh isn't the best and it only has a 5 bladed aperture (IIRC).

However, if you can get it for a decent price, it's worth thinking about.

There are a few of my examples here: SMC Pentax 24mm f/2.8 - a set on Flickr

eg

Handheld @ f/5.6 I seem to remember... (maybe f/8, but was a little dark for that I think)

I need to sort out my 24-28 mm options, as I have too many

24mm Kiron F2, tamron F2.5 plus covered in the range of my FA-J 18-35F4-5.6
28mm Kiron F2, vivitar (komine) F2.5 (M42 mount) and K mount, tamron F2.5, sigma mini macro F2.8 (KA mount) plus covered by 4 zooms (Tamron 28-75F2.8, FA-J 18-35 F4-5.6, plus FA-28-80 F3.5-4.5 and FA-28-105F4-5.6)

I like the kiron for speed, although they have a problem with sticky apertures (Had to fix both mine) sigma mini wide macro is junk due to very bad CA off center axis.

I used to have K24/2.8. The IQ is very good IMO and it's nice and small. Solidly built too. If you are after small 24, I don't think you will get better than that (unles you'd get A series which has same optics with A position in bit worse built housing). I agree on the Sigma 24/2.8. I used to have it but never liked the way it rendered. Currently I own FA*24 which is great IMO, but if you consider 31 big lens then FA* is out of question as it's tad bigger than 31. I never owned 28mm other than Tokina RMC 28/2.8 which I will not recommend...
