Lens price rises again

Just check B&H and realize DA40ltd is now $360 instead of the $340 they are selling for quite some time...

I guess for those who want a ltd prime, better grab one before it increase even more...

Just about everything in B&H at that price range has gone up for $20.
The D-BG4 had always been $200 as far as I knew, and when stocks came back in recently on the grip at B&H, the price went straight to $220.

First time I can ever recall the Aussie dollar eclipsing the US dollar so convincingly...

It's worse for the pricier lenses. The DA 300mm went up hundreds of dollars at most places. The FA43mm is up close to two hundred dollars. FA 31, up 150-250 most places.

I'm waiting it out. If they don't go down, it's great to have the third party makers.

Yeah the nearly $200 price jump on the 43 made me laugh. It was arguably already overpriced in the mid 500s, now it's just outrageous.

Just checked, the FA 43 is $569 at B&H, so that hasn't gone up or not by much. The DA*300 is another matter though!

Out of stock. The places I saw with it in stock were all 750 now.

Wow! Amazon now has the FA31 Limited for $2,000. That puts it in the Leica price range. (It certainly is competitive with almost any Leica lens, but that's another story.) I feel very fortunate to have gotten my FA43 for ONLY $570 two weeks ago. I think that the falling U.S. dollar is only part of the story. Probably interruptions in the supply pipeline from Japan are more significant. My FA43 was made in Japan, not in Vietnam, as some people assume. Many retailers are now showing that lens as being out of stock.

The lens may be assembled in Vietnam, but I believe the optics are still manufactured in Japan.

That's because Amazon doesn't have it. It's a third party seller that has it at that price. When amazon runs out of stock they give you other options, even if they are at ridiculous prices.

As far as I remember, it never has. Not even before Keating floated it. Prior to that it was just 1:1. My memory fails from much before the float though, I just wasn't that interested.

Must check out the DA 70 and FA 77 and make a decision right now, as I type, its creeping toward 108c

Do you think so?!?
Welcome to Europe my friend. We've been "suffering" these prices for a vhile.
43 is now £699 up from 675
77 is £799 up from 749
31 is 1099 up from 1049
55 is 599 up from 549
And I could go on and on...
There has been inequality in pricinf for quite some time (I'd say since the time of the big rise). Before it used to be 1:1 £vs$. So £150 FA50 would cost around 150$ in US.
Now you guys are finally catching up
