Makinon Macro-Focal 35-105mm F2.8 ???

Anyone with any knowledge about this lens?

Uncle Google has no idea There are sources about Makinon 35-105 F35-..., but not this 2.8 fixed The closest thing I can find is Tamron 35-105 f2.8.

I know that Makinon is not a celebrated brand, maybe the quality is so bad that people just don't buy their lenses anymore. But, a few reviews at our Lens Database did praised some of them, even dare to par them with Tamron macros, even Taks.

Looking at the suggested price tag (of that time, maybe 30 years ago?), this lens should be something.

Hi Mina,
I saw your post of 4-22, sorry I went away and neglected to answer.
I have 2 Makinons of "the off brand club".
After seeing your f 2.8 , I tested the Makinon f 3.5 28 ~ 80 mm here which is quite different to the photos you put up.
It is a big blunderbus with a 72 mm thread, very nice to handle and focus.
Compared to the Takamur-A 3.5 ~ 4.5 28 ~ 80 which is not so easy to handle and focus

The Makinon was across the range about 1 click less light compared to the Tak-A meaning that it would not be really opening up to f 3.5 compared to the Tak-A,
It takes nice shots. I compared it to a Pentax prime because of adverse comments about Makinon.
On dslr it has a bit of fringing in the corners, just like other old zooms of this class & no worse as far as I could see.
The other Makinon I have is a 4.5 200 mm with a sliding metal hood which we used all last summer for kids baseball and it sure took a lot of good sharp shots and into harsh sunlight.

Just use and enjoy that Makinon!

Hi ye all, thanks for commenting. Yes, I'm enjoying this lens, also the weight of it
I have put a new lens review on this, felt pretty nice to have something that is, well, not quite so common
