are these fungus or dried water spot?

Just got a F 35-70mm

I see there are some dried water spot looks like a river.
it's on the surface of the second glass
Are these water moisture or fungus?

Looks like fungi to me.

Or trails from a bug that got in there, perhaps.

It does look like fungus. However, it looks like it's on glass that's pretty easy to get to and clean. You'll need a lens wrench or a DIY one to get to it.

If it hasn't been edged into the glass, then it's not too much of a problem. Just try & take the steps to keep it from coming back.

Fungus from my opinion. Usually water spots form nice clean round edges not a random pattern. Exception would be water streaks.
