Just picked up a pentax M50 f4 macro and was wondering if anyone had some shots from this lens to give me some ideas of its performance?

thanks

I have had this lens for a short time and haven't had a chance to really get out and use it a lot...but when I have I really like it. Great walk-around lens for multiple purposes. Here are a few of my (very beginner) pics with it.

I got the idea that this lens ought to be good at sun stars, like you see taken with the DA 15/4. It only has a few elements, an odd number of aperture blades, and stops down to f32. Well, it turns out 50mm is too long. The sun takes up too much of the frame, I think.

Probably 2 second timer on a tripod. Someone wanted to see non macro shots from the lens. IIRC, he got snippy about the photos when I couldn't understand his questions about those specific (as requested) photos. Then said he wanted it but then bailed. Someone else took it and as far as I know, they're happy with it.

But yes, it is a very sharp lens. The main reason I sold that copy was at the time I also had (and still have) the A50 f2.8 macro.

This is one of my favorite shots ever, and with the M 50/4 too.

Haven't used it much, but the times I have show that it's a very sharp lens.
