The only lens that I've seen that produces images as nice as the Pentax 50-135mm f2.8 is the Sony 70-200 f2.8 G SSM but it's over $2000US. For that price difference alone a moved sideways to Pentax. If they make Pentax 135-400mm f4 SDM lens with similar results then that would be perfect.

Just a note that I think I pointed out earlier in this thread (or another) about Ben's position with respect to Hawking Pentax gear... Ben has been on the money with his comments and he appears to have made some impact on Pentax on behalf of all other Pentax users.

More importantly to me, is that Ben...on this very forum... made it clear that he was dissatisfied with performance from the DA 21 from a certain production run. He called it like it was and didn't mince his words. To me that clearly shows that Ben's comments pertain to what a lens "can" or "can't do" and not just a pitch to be a salesman for the lenses and camera bodies.

Clearly Ben's work speaks for what Pentax is capable of doing. BEN... keep up the work and keep posting some of you new work.

Stephen
Thanks Stephen...Appreciated. I'm having lunch with the President of Pentax France today...

egordon99, those are simply amazing shots. May I ask how you set up the frame around the photo? Is this a CS3 feature or something else.

I'm saving my pennies for this lens.

Absolute Sharpening Pro I have the "Web" version, best $9 I've spent on photo "gear"

Glad you liked the pictures! I agree with codiac2600, this lens just has amazing resolution! Not to mention I love the "look" of the images that come from this great piece of glass.
Oh, and the silent focus is GREAT! (and works very well in low light)

I too am most interested in your thoughts about this lens. Have had my copy for about a month or so now, and am not quite sure if I like it or not. Eagerly awaiting...

I noticed the price increase when I clicked on your first link. Wondered why they raised the price? I got both of my DA* lenses from the Pasadena store, each at $850, about a week apart from each other.

I don't know why they raised the price but my timing was good on one lens and bad on the other...I noticed that B&H has them also for the same price as samy's does and usually b&h is a little less money..On a second note, we are fortunate to have samy's because they have great inventory on Pentax product in stock...
