Close focus at 22 feet? We need a new term for close focus when the distance in feet is double digits. I think my Five Star 500 is probably half that distances, though. So...

I don't think I have used my Focal Q II 70-210 in about 52 weeks. Even if I could get twenty bucks for it, I don't know that I would like to sell at this point.

To add to my previous post. My 'favourite' unused lens is a screw mount 135mm F2.5. Magnificent lens. I just don't use it as much as I should.

My first series kit lens (The second series does get used). This is the only one I would consider thinning from the herd.

Cosina 55mm F1.2 is not used nearly enough. It is so much bulkier than the M50/1.4, and the focus is not as smooth.

Matt

You need to remember that lenses that focus by movine the entire group all suffer from this. Just look at the 500/4.5 or the 1000/8 which focus at 50 and 100 feet respectively. You can use extension tubes to improve this or a slight diopter like the 135-640mm zoom which had a close up lens. I think it was .05 diopter or something like that

My Takumar Bayonet 135. I've never found it useful and is going on the block soon.

I have a Takumar Bayonet 135mm, f/2.5 that I got off ebay a couple of years ago for something like $12. I'm not sure it has ever been on my camera.

I don't think that baby will last very long once you list it. I have had mine for about a month and use it mainly for portraits. I consider it the best of the FA Limiteds (I have all three) and the best lens that I have ever owned. I can only assume that the focal length does not suit your shooting style.

My least used lens is the DA*200. I'm not very interested in nature photography, but I keep it around for the rare long telephoto landscape shot.

It's silver MIJ, very first copy with leaded glass and different coatings (to other FA43 series, at least rumour has it).
I have deal lined up as part exchange for FA100/2.8.
You guys, would have to try really hard and put up some price to get hands on it as the guy I'm dealing with is friend from this forum

as far as saying it's the best of FAltds? Possibly so, but after getting DA*55 I practically haven't put it on my camera....

I have about a half dozen lenses from my films days which I never use, such as the M 50/2, a Vivitar 80-200/4.5, and a truly appalling A 35-80/4-5.6. The only reason I still have them is they're not worth the trouble of selling. Of lenses that are in my current kit, the least used are: the K 200/4, the M 50/1.7, and the A 35-105/3.5. While these are very nice lenses, they languish under the shadow of even better glass, such as the DA* 300, the K 50/1.2, and the K 35/3.5.

My dad recently gave me an old Promaster Spectrum 7 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 (or something like that). He couldn't even account for why he had it. It will never get used. Like northcoastgreg I doubt it's even worth selling.

Out of the dozen or so lenses I have access to, there are only four that live in my bag (DA15-DA40-DA70-M120/2.8). So *everything* else is used much less than these. I do still find opportunities to use my M28/2.8 as well as my kit zooms (18-55 & 50-200), and my M100/2.8 is too useful to not come with my to concerts now and then.

My M135/3.5 was used a ton when it lived in my bag, but it's been pretty much completely replaced by the 120 now, so I suspect it will *become* my least used lens.

Based on usage up until now, however, my least-used lenses are the A50/1.7, M200/4, and Vivitar 500 mirror. They come out for very special usage every now and then, but mostly, anything shot I might possibly take with one of those I'm more likely to want to take with something else.

There is also a Tamron-made Quantaray 70-300, but I don't count it because it basically became my wife's lens after I got the 50-200.

I have those too -- three M50/2's, actually, that came in on various bodies that I'll keep on display. Maybe someday they'll be worth something. Till then, they look nicer than plain body caps. And the Vivitar isn't bad -- but it just doesn't get used.

The A35-80 is arguably one of the worst lenses ever sold by Pentax. BUT... I recently found a use for it! Put it on a 49mm-PK mount-reversal ring. Now it has flatfield sharpness and only minor CA. At 35mm it reaches 2x magnification at about 5cm; at 80mm it close-focuses to about 15cm and far-focuses past infinity. So it *IS* usable! It just isn't worth selling...

I would have to say my SMC Tak 200 f4.0 is my most unused.. only when I want range and use it with its 2x TC to hit 400mm. Most of the time I use my 43 ltd, but when I need a bit of extra range I use my Tamron SP 70-210mm f3.5. If it gets wet out, then the 18-135mm gets used.

Same here! I have a Pentax-A 28mm f/2.8 and it's been used twice, for maybe 10 shots. Not really even worth the bother of selling it I guess...
