Your most unused lenses

What are the most unused lenses in your case? we buy many lenses and many remains unused or rarely used. For me, 17-50mm and 77mm are rarely used because mostly I carry 10-20mm on one cam and 28-75mm or 70-200mm on another. In low light, it's typically FA35/2 or 50/1.4. So I have sometime force myself to use those two unused lenses.

Just wondering, is this the same case with others? or do you use all your lenses?

Yusuf

I have about 50 lenses. 35 of which hardly ever get mounted to a camera. Which reminds me, it's time for a clean-out.

Wow, that's a lot!!! I had 23 lenses and sold many unused lenses to get some dry-storage space for other lenses.

"Most-Unused" -- how does that differ from "Least Used" ??

Of my ~200 lenses (and others here own many more) some are unused|unusable collection pieces, or extreme optics for experimentation; some see regular use, sometimes after enduring a lens-of-the-day workout; many are slated for lens-of-the-day action, i.e. they're awaiting their turns.

Maybe "Most-Unused" differs from "Least Used" financially?

Strictly, all the lenses I haven't used yet are "Least-Used". Maybe the "Most-Unused" lenses are the most expensive ones that yet just sit there. Ok, my Lil'Bigma 170-500 tops the list, followed by Rubinar Makpo 1000/10 mirror. Hmmm, my biggest and heaviest glass, imagine that. Most of my other costly (to me) choices were less sloppily made.

I don't fret so much over unused cheap lenses. I'll try them eventually, and some will be keepers, and the luzers will be sold. And I see that used lens prices do not drop. Hold a lens awhile before selling, and the profit can be rather nice. Nice enough to keep buying lenses, anyway.

And that is how one becomes an online lens trader.

Most unused:

Sigma 105 macro.

Nothing wrong with it. It's just that macro work is very time consuming and somewhat technical and not very spontaneous so I'm often just not in the mood for that sort of thing.

Like most folks I have more lenses than I need or use. I hope my wife doesn't read this.

As I look at my collection I realize I only use four or five lenses on anything like a regular basis: M 400/5.6, K 200/2.5, A 100/2.8 macro, DA 70/2.4 and DA* 16~50/2.8. The rest: K 24/2.8, M 28/2.8, M 35/2, M 50/1.4, M 50/4 macro, K 135/3.5, M 150/3.5 and M 200/4 just collect dust most of the time.

There are some fine lenses in that unused group and I really should take them out for a spin more often. The first group, through trial and error, just seem to cover my range of photographic interests just about perfectly.

M150 f3,5. It's excellent but it's rare that I need the speed at that focal length, and it's much more convenietn to use my AF 100-300.

really, what colour?

Well I to sell things I don't use enough. Sold my DA*16-50 for buying primes (DA14mm and DA21mm). Sold my Sigma 170-500 after having a chance to buy FA*85mm.

Now have a barely used M35mm/f2 lens, but there is someone who wants it. And I have a Nikkor 300mm/f4.5 with adapter that is sitting around. This one is obsolete when I have a copy of Sigma 120-300mm/f2.8.

Me too, along with my M28 3.5 among the older crowd. Among the newer lenses, the DA10-17 fisheye zoom.

For me the least used is an old vivitar 400/5.6

I cover this now with my sigma 70-200 and sigma 2x. Or with my SMC 300/4

I seriously have not used this lens in 10 years. Although it is a reasonable lens it has a close focus of 22 feet (7 meters) due to the simple optical design
