Why would you pay more than this which is right from the source?

PentaxWebstore Mount Adapter K(35m m Screwmount to Bayonet)
Pentaxwebstore won't ship to Canada, to our dismay. We either suck it up and pay 60~70 bucks for a new one or hang around the marketplace hoping to nab one reasonably. I paid $25.00 for the genuine article minus the spring lock. Just as well, I would have removed it had there been one.

Thanks,

Wow, RR, you do pick up some lens bargains - no wonder you've got so many! What's the secret of your success, would you say?

Political economist Robert Reich used to tell of how he predicted the 1987 USA stock market crash. It was easy. He just predicted a crash weekly for ten years, and eventually he was right. Nothing to it, eh?

I take a similar approach. I bid (LOW!) on zillions of lenses. I set a limit and don't go more than US$5 over it. I lose 98.5% of auctions. Eventually, I win a few, and can crow with triumph over my successes. [/me buffs fingernails, looks humble]

In the process, I gain a rough idea of market values. So on the rare occasions that I walk into a shop and sort through lenses, I have some sense of whether a price is good. Still, even with research and persistence, it's mostly a matter of luck.

Then there's being TOO lucky. Like when I bid on multiple auctions for the same lens model, hoping to win one -- and I win them ALL! Nothing to do then but wait a few months and resell them for twice as much. Used lens prices don't drop, generally.

The secret of my success? Think cheap!

Ouch ... I haven't even found it from a local seller. (The US price of ~$30 new seems very decent of Pentax US ) A small-volume thing I suppose; Pentax is a smaller brand and using M42 lenses is not mainstream (?).
