What does the wife say when you bring home triple vodka saying its for contact cleaning?
She says, "You're going to use the good vodka for WHAT?"

Funny, but vodka tends to erase memories for me.
It does a great job of erasing time, mistakes, dirt, and grime from contacts as well

IZZY replacement

With the demise of the dl, I miss having 2 bodies. I used to leave the kit lens on the ds and change the old m lenses on the dl.
Also I like the idea of not changing lenses on one body in interest of dust.

So.. Should I break out the brand new ist ds,.. or save up for a k200d?

Is it worth keeping the ist ds in its box unused forever? How much would a new in box ME Super be worth today?

I would break out the *ist and then save up for a K-x! You've already got it and that camera may be sitting in a box but it's not getting any younger. The parts for fixing one are costing a small fortune anyway. I think it would be better to use both now and then to save up for a K-x which has newer parts. Makes more sense to me.

Yes good advice MagKelly. Izzys might become worthless when the 8GB sd card becomes obsolete.
Whereas a good film camera might become vintage because film has a following.
How did the Opening of the Izzy go on your side?

Only recent memories are erased - brings back OLD fuzzy memories.

My teacher is pretty sure it's dead and gone unfortunately. No luck reviving the camera at all so far. There's no power in the circuitry at all he says. I guess he tested that somehow. DSLR's have power supplies and computer type motherboards right? Maybe one of Izzy's finally went? I'm not too up on the innards of DSLR's yet admittedly.
